I think it was partially because we had the best weather so far this year and I only got to enjoy about 45 minutes of it. Oh well, there'll be more sunny days.

I have Emily this weekend, and I gotta say I was pretty excited. I couldn't wait to get home and see the little munchkin. It's a shame that I only got to see her for an hour or so, but I have her for another 4 days so plenty of time to hang out and catch up. I think the weather is going to be pretty good for the rest of this weekend so I might take her to the park or just out for some strolls or something.

I've been having some horrendous dreams lately. Nothing overly gory, scary, or freaky, but just as disturbing. I keep dreaming about my would be wedding day, as if it was still going ahead. Dreams like that make it hard to get out of bed in the morning.

I've been leaving work early lately. I can't stand it there, it gives me headaches. I do all this in spite of having very bad financial problems. Think I'm gonna have to just suck it up, I need money to get some stuff done: New glasses, new tattoo just for starters.

Still trying to sort out life. It's hard. All I want is a good job, less debt, the ability to be a grown up, own a house, and be a good father.

Over and Out,
Jon

Somewhere, Beyond the Sea!

I've felt the need to watch faintly British movies lately. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I think Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright, and a little t.v. show named Spaced might have something to do with it. As a part of this need I've watched 28 Days Later again. The funny thing about this movie is that I found it completely terrifiyng the first couple of times I watched it, but this time I found it more interesting than frightening. I think what made the difference this time is that I realized that even though the movie was seemingly the resurgence of the zombie movie, the "monsters" are not really monsters at all, they're people, just fueled on rage and adrenaline. It's funny how the thin line between rage infected humans and supernatural, undead, humans makes one feel more at ease while watching the movie.

On a seemingly unrelated note I've also found it quite entertaining to watch the new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries with the new host Dennis Farina (Snatch). Sound odd? Well it is. Why the producers of the show would go for such an odd stick is a little mind boggling. For starters the original host, Robert Stack (BASEketball), was creepy as hell. I mean Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction, Sleepy Hallow) creepy. But this new guy, well he just doesn't seem to believe in what he is doing. Good old Robbie always had a semblence of belief in his creepy monotone, but Farina with his New York, wise guy accent seems less than enthused about the subject material. Now maybe I'm just typecasting the poor guy, but come on now.

Now, back to the real subject of this post. The point of mentioning both of these things is that they both portray people isolated or on the run, people who have or can disappear. 28 Days Later is pretty obvious in it's isolation, but Unsolved Mysteries, as a "variety" show, only contains stories of this sort from time to time. However, there are many stories that I have seen amongst the murder mysteries, the ghost stories, and alien abductions that investigate cases of disappearances. Now, you may ask "What the hell is Jon getting at?" and even more likely you may say, "get to the point already!" Well, here we go.

Okay, so since I've watched all of these things lately it has been making me think that I might want to just disappear, uproot and leave without a trace. The idea does have a certain appeal: the ability to travel the world, escape everyday troubles, and forget all the grown-up responsibilities of life. My buddy has recently mentioned a roadtrip to Maine, which is close enough to Newfoundland, and I'm sure it has it's more isolated spots. It would be a great little spot to grab a cottage and just forget about everything.

Don't get too excited, I definitely wouldn't do that at this point in my life. Maybe a few years ago before I had the responsibilites I do now, but I know I wouldn't be able to leave my daughter. These thoughts were just the postulations of a man in an odd situation, trying ot sort out what would be the best in my life. Right now I have a beautiful daughter, a supporting family, and great friends, I don't think I would throw that away.

Well, enough of this nonsense,
Over and Out,

Jon

Just another Spoke in the Wheel

Oh blogger, my anonymous little friend whom I share secrets with yet allow the internet population full access to, what an odd time you have come back into my life. I am at the point now where I take things one day at a time! Recently, the days have been really good, but there are some days when I really don't want to or can't do anything. It's very strange, and I can honestly say that I have never felt this way in my life. Have I fallen prey to some sort of Shakespearean Tragedy? Nah. Could it have gone that way? Perhaps, and maybe it still will. One never can tell.

That's where this little piece of realty in cyberspace comes in I fear, a place to dump my thoughts and emotions just to make some sense of them. To make them more real, tangible, easier to wrestle with. That's where today's blog posting comes into play. I've decided that while I have many, many goals in life I will never find success in them unless I have some record of them on paper, or I guess on file. So that's what I propose to do today, after all, I left a rather lengthy and meaty post yesterday, and I don't have much more to add other than the following goals for what's left of my life.
Here we go:

Lose weight/ get in shape.

Write something that gets published.

Get out of Newfoundland.

Get a better job, preferably something permanent and better paying.

Go back to school possibly.

Change my outlook on life.

Write everyday (that includes this blog)

Well that's about it I guess. I can't think of any other goals, though I got a feeling there is something I'm missing there. Oh well.

Over and Out,
Jon

Picking Up the Pieces

Well, as promised, I'm back. It took a little longer than I had expected, but there has been some stuff I had to work through; some stuff I still have to work through. So to start this is just going to be an overview of what I want to accomplish with this blog and why I've come back to it.

The main reason that I have come back to WritingKind is that I believe that my writing has suffered from the lack of practice that this blog provided me. My old blog posts were relatively well written with good structure and made some kind of sense. My goal with this rejuvenation is to focus on my writing technique and skill, and, in saying that, feel free to comment, criticize, or rant at me for bad grammar or writing - I can take it.

Another reason I have returned is that this blog has always provided an outlet for the things that I going on in my life. I think that I really need something like this in my life, particularly at this point. I am really pocking up the pieces of my life and trying to find out where everything fits again and it's not easy. I'm hoping that this blog will help to guide me.

The final reason I am revisting WritingKind is to keep track of or be a record of my fight back into shape. I'm hoping that a public journal of my progress will help me get motivated to do something (anything) to make myself healthier, and feel better.

After saying all of this I would like to note that despite the above, I really do not intend to be this somber because it's just not the type of person I am. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with the blog and not lay it down like I did before. Please keep an eye out as I look forward to hearing your input, but for now I'm done. More to come tomorrow.

Over and Out,
Jon

Under Construction

Things are changing. I probably would have kept it up but I was a little surprised and a little distracted by the joyous event. Hopefully you won't hold that against me.
Needless to say things are a little different now. Other than the obvious birth of a daughter (which I will get into at a later date), I've switched jobs, got a new car, and moved out with Kate and Emily.
Life is pretty good.
I started re-reading this blog today and realized that even though it was just mindless rambling it helped me in my writing (I didn't do too bad in those earlier posts), and I was much happier and idealistic back then. Weird how I lost that. Hopefully starting this up again will give me a much needed outlet for all those frustrating things in life.

I guess that's it for now, but keep an eye out, I'll be back.

Jon.

Play the best song in the world, or I'll eat your soul...

Howdy folks,
Well, the weekly updates are being kept pretty steady. Not a lot to say tonight though... just trying to keep up the updates.

Christmas:
That's right, Christmas is about 14 days away. That means only 13 days until Steve's Christmas Eve Bash and only about 3 days until Kevin returns home from England. I just finished getting all of my presents picked up so I feel a little more relaxed. All I have to do now is pick up some cards to go with certain gifts and I will be set.
I had a Christmas party with work last night at New Moon Restaurant. It was pretty good, short and sweet. Only three people from the Shoe department showed up, the rest were Men's wear and one fromChildrens, but all around good time. I got 2 presents! Sweet, though I may have to regift for someone who may appreciate them a little more.
I'm very excited for the holidays right now. Kate and I just finished watching Home Alone earlier today, and now we are waiting for both Frosty and Rudolph to come on t.v. (only 30 minutes). Man it really gets me in the Christmas Spirit.

Work:
Work is as steady as before. Starting wednesday I'll be working everyday straight through until next tuesday doing 7-3 shifts, then I have two days off, and then only three days until Christmas!!! Sheesh, where did the time go.
As for substituting, I believe I mentioned the surreality of going in for my former highschool teacher Mr. Duff, but, some good news, I was just called to go in again. This time its for a teacher I didn't have much contact with but I'm actually teaching as opposed to supervising, which is really what I have been doing the past couple of times I was called in. I'm sort of nervous though, I havn't really taught-taught since my internship at O'Donel, but, at the same time, I am excited to be teaching (especially since I will be teaching some Shakespeare!!! woo).

Other:
Not much else going on. Kate is finishing up her exams, her last one is tomorrow, which is pretty exciting. I'm happy for her. I mentioned to Chuck the other day that it seems odd that I'm not in the middle of exams right now. I don't have that same feeling of accomplishment that I did only a short year ago. Oh well, less stress on me. I think my real problem is struggling with the fact that I am now considered an adult, a grown-up if you will, and that sort of scares me. Really, I don't feel any different, or any more responsible. I still do that same things I've always done. It makes me wonder about the other so-called grown-ups out there. Lieing bastards.
Caught Apocalypto this past friday. I gotta say it was pretty good. I really enjoyed myself, and it was the first time that I was able to hang out with Chuck in a couple of months, so that was pretty cool.

Well, I think I will cut this update short. Afterall there's only a couple of minutes until Frosty comes one. I'll update this beast if anything crazy happens!

Catch ya on the flip side,
Jondre.

So don't look for me in confession booth I'm with my paints, and my pens, and my dry vermouth trying to uncover some small truth...

Hey all,
Still trying to keep my updates pretty close together, I guess I'm not too far off!! Well, not a lot has been going on lately. Took in a Sarah Slean show last night with Kate (see the title above) and I gotta say that I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Not only was she a good showwoman but I really enjoyed the music she was playing. It's certainly not like your average everyday pop music in that the lyrics have some sort of substance to them. In fact, I might go so far as to say that she sort of reminded me of a more feminine version of a Kevin J.C. Woolridge. (Please Kevin, don't take offense!)

In other news, while I have been working full tilt at Sears, I've been enjoying myself. As the senior associate in the department I have certain benefits that I am entitled too. One of which is have all morning shifts, another being I can pick and choose my shifts pretty much. So I finally feel more appreciated in my department. For those of you who can remember I was feeling a little let down by how I was treated there, however, now I am feeling much better. I've even got compliments from the store manager on my work. Sheesh, I sound like a total nerd.

On to other work news, I got my second substitution job today, and again it was at St.Kevin's Highschool. This time around I was taking over for my old Homeroom and english teacher, the world-reknowned "Duff". It was pretty awesome being back in that classroom again, yet it was a little surreal being on the other side of the desk so to speak. I fought off the impulse to take a seat at the back of the room next to the door to the library, my old seat, but I couldn't stop myself from revealing my past with St.Kevin's with my students. It was also nice to know that I was remembered up at my old stomping grounds. I found two pictures of myself on "Duff's" wall that brought me back a bit. In fact I looked so different in those pictures I had to do a double-take. If not for Duane in one picture I wouldn't have even known it was me!

Other than that there was not a lot going down. As I've said, work has been pretty constant and pretty early which makes for a very tired Jon. The end result of a tired Jon is a crooked Jon and a sleepy Jon. So, needless to say, I have hardly found any time to do anything but lie around, watch t.v. or movies, or just vegetate. I can't wait for Christmas so that I can have a few days to just sit around and relax and enjoy the company of Kate, my friends, and family.

Oh yeah, on another Christmas sidenote, my Mom now has the entire upper section of our house decorated, including a fully decorated tree. Just fantastical!!!

Anyway, that's all for me.
Catch ya on the flip side,
Jondre.

You musta been so high...

Hey all,
Trying to keep the updates regular, but it's a little hard. I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm a little addicted to changeing the format of this place. I like what I've got done for now, but I'll keep on adding tweeks here and there.

Not a lot going on right now. I've been working like crazy at Sears, I still haven't had a shift begin past 7 am, as of 2 or 3 weeks right now. This week I even have some 6am-2pm shifts. Very early in the morning...perhaps too early! Ugh! I know that I felt like a bag o' shit this morning trying to haul my ass out of bed at 5am.
As for teaching, I haven't heard anything since, but I'm still content with the fact that I had my first day and made it through without being killed, or killing one of the kids. Hopefully there will be more come my way soon!

In other news, I got my first rejection letter yesterday. Yep, one of my stories was rejected by the magazine. It was one of those generic e-mails that basically said they regretted it, but they just couldn't publish my story at this time. Oh well, I guess it's better than recieving an e-mail saying that my writing totally sucks. I'm taking it pretty well and I haven't lost hope. I understand that rejection comes with the job of being a writer; you win some, you lose some. Hopefully it will make my resolve to write even stronger.
As for writing, I've been really into writing this one story as of late, and Kate has been keeping me on my toes, giving me writing assignments everyday/week. So far her response has been positive.

Well, I guess that's it for now. If anything earth-shattering happens I'll keep you posted.
Catch ya on the flip side,
Jondre.

I watched you change into a fly...

Hey all,

This is my second post in as many days, but its not going to be a long one. First off, I guess you may notice that there are some format changes around here. First off is the header image (the one at the top). That's "The Great Wave of Kanagawa 1831" by Katsushika Hokusai, a poster that I picked up from Imaginus in October. Every since I've gotten into tattoos, I've grown to appreciate Japanese artwork, especially their waves, and this is a prime example of one. I may have to get a tattoo along these lines sometime in the future!
Also, you may have noticed I have all of my Links back plus more, and I have them split up into two categories: Friends, and Places to Check out. Any suggestions, or anyone I forgot just let me know.
I've also managed to move my Currents to the sidebar as well. Very convienent and it looks nice. Just put your pointer over the image(without clicking) and it will give you the title, and they are links to Amazon.ca which provides more info on what I'm currently into.

I think that's about it. I'm going to try and figure out how to change the font color (there is a lot of confusing code to look through...ugh) but for now I'm pretty happy. If you have any issues let me know.

Catch ya later,
Jondre the Giant.

I've got something to say....

Now, brace yourselves because there's been a lot happening...

First off, I think I mentioned in my last entry that two things were coming up: Convocation and my B-day. Both went ahead as planned, my Convocation on the 20th of October, and my b-day party on the 21st. The convocation was as anti-climatic and boring as always. The highlight of the night was getting Boston Pizza beforehand, which was damn good! Man I love there pizza, definately a close second only to Pizza Hut...sheesh. As for the convocation I was presented with my degree, had some pictures snapped and went home to watch the Tick vs. Season 1 on DVD. Woohoo! The next night was much better, me and Kate dressed up and awaited guests, all of whom were dressed for success. I think Chuck took the cake with his Rubix Cube costume though Andy and Tracy had a nice Pimp and Ho routine going ( though I have to say I was a much better pimp at the first annual Jondre costume/ B-day partay).

So, what else... hrmmm. Well, I've been working at Sears full-time lately, working mostly morning shifts, which has been pretty cool. However, I havn't been hearing much from schools in regards to substitute positions, and up until last week I was thinking a lot about moving away this coming september to any place that offers isolation pay and a full-time job just to pay off some bills. But, on friday, I got some good news in the form of my first substituting job! Oh it gets better, it was at my old alma mater, St.Kevin's High! Woohoo! Definately a good place to start my substituting career, I mean I knew the school and most of the teachers, how can ya ask for more?

Well, that was the big news. Otherwise, Kate and I are going strong - over a year and 2 months now. Kate is kicking MUN's ass this term and getting excellent marks, but we are both really looking forward to the Christmas break. Man, the Christmas bug hit me early this year. Kate and I went out and rented Elf and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation last night. Surprisingly we've held out on watching the Muppet Family Christmas but that will come soon enough.

Oh yeah, speaking of movies: Kate took me to see Stranger than Fiction last week. It was an excellent movie. Though it seems like it may be a comedy from the commercials, it is definately more of a drama, but with a premise that hasn't been done before, so it was extremely interesting. A great cast led by Will Ferrell and Dustin Hoffman, and, for those hardcore fans out there, Will does have his funny moments, but does a surprisingly good job in the serious moments.

Also, I guess you have noticed that I have changed my page format, spurred on by Kevin's change of scenery. It might take me a while to get my links and stuff back, but never fear they will come. I might take some time to customize this space a little bit, I've got some ideas, so keep a lookout.

Well, that's it for me. I should be tutoring or something I guess.
But first, some currents:

Watching: Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang/Elf/Lethal Weapon 2.
Listening: Nothing my car stereo isn't working yet again.
Reading: Tamas Dobozy - Last Notes/ Lisa Moore - Alligator
Playing: Smackdown Vs. But it is a refreshing cold. The kind that you can feel in you. A cold that lets you breath easier.

This is my favorite time of the year. I love the weather, the falling leaves, the yellow and the brown. I love wearing sweaters, and hats. It's just a invigorating time of the year. Oh, yeah, it's also the time of the year when I have my birthday, maybe that has something to do with it. Usually I have a costume party, but I havn't had confirmation from anyone yet so that is still up in the air. I'd like to though... it always turns out fun.

Convocation is coming up: October 20th. It's my second and I'm not really looking forward to it. They're long and boring. Oh well, I guess I'll suffer it out. I think I'm going to Boston Pizza for supper beforehand, woohoo!

There is a new tattoo in my future. Went down to Trouble Bound to setup a consultation today, but there is a long waiting list. I figured I would try a new artist this time around, the new guy, Mike. Nothing against Krys, she definately did good by me. Maybe I'll become a collector and get different pieces from different artists. I'm hoping to get "Literate" tattooed across the back of my shoulders to signify graduating from my Education Degree. If not that I might get quotation marks on the front of my shoulders, or maybe I'll try for a half-sleeve. Oh the possibilities.

Done.

Currents:

Watching: One Hour Photo/ Bubba Ho-tep/ Death to Smoochy
Reading: J.D. So, now you have it.

Sloth:
Yes, that's pretty much been the name of the game as of late. I've been doing practically nothing outside of working. Work for Jonny boy consists of a mixture of 7-3 and 6-2 shifts in the shoe department of Sears, which is not all that bad. It sort of feels nice to belong somewhere ya know? To elaborate: I've been working at Sears for 2 years and as of right now I feel that I know what I am doing there, so to work during the day (and pretty much every DAY not night) it sort of feels like I'm in the real world. It feels like I'm actually a part of something (workwise that is).

But Jondre what about those fancy degrees of yours?:
I might as well laminate them and use them for place mats. Since school has ended I've gone to one seminar for substitute teachers hoping to get work at O'Donel. Otherwise, I was finally able to get my shit together and submit the necessities for my substitute profile which is like a pool of substitute teachers found online. Somehow I don't think that my chances for getting substitution jobs is very good. On friday I think I may try and drop around some resumes/ portfolios to some schools to see if I can persuade them to call me up from time to time, but I'm still not going to get my hopes up.
By the by, its friggin' strange not having to go to school in september. I've participated in some type of school since Kindergarten. I've really had no breaks. So I feel like something is missing. On the otherhand, it is very relaxing to be able to go to work and leave my shit there and not have to bring it home (aka: homework). Perhaps that is why my motivation to try and get substitution jobs has been lacking: I'm finally able to relax and take account of everything.
I do feel bad that I am not writing as much as I would like. Most of the time I just veg out in front of the t.v. or my playstation, but I'm hopeing my lazy spell will soon end and I'll get my writing act together.

Writing? What about Writing?
Well, I've finally been able to submit the first round of stories to certain magazines/ journals. Hopefully I will at least hear some positive things back from them if not news that they want to publish me. I'm very anxious. I also have to start preparing some things for a couple of writing contests that are coming up. One is Prism's contest, and the other is the Arts and Letters competition. So hopefully I can get my ass in gear before their respective deadlines in January.

Speaking of parties...
My b-day is coming up in less than a month. I don't think I'm going to plan much of anything this year. Normally I have a costume party the week before our local Mardi Gras, but I don't know how many people would be interested. I've sort of lost touch in the last month or so. If I do have anything it will be the weekend before my b-day. I think my parents are going to be taking me to Boston Pizza. Yumm.
The day before that though is my convocation (Oct.20), so hopefully I'll get an ice cream cake from my parents or something. Woohoo.

One year +:
That's right, Kate and I have been together for over a year now. We celebrated by taking a night and going to the Keg and then stayed at the WinterHolme (which was pretty kick ass if I do say so myself!) Things are still going great between the both of us. Kate has now entered into school life and has returned to a job in the library (where we first met). I'm just trying to find time between our busy schedules to get together and hang out for a bit. Which usually consists of watching movies and falling asleep (we've both been pretty busy lately so we're always tired!)
But, I'm not the only one with relationship news around here. I don't want to go into much details due to privacy and not wanting to sound like a gossip columnist, but a couple of the homeboys found some women, and the aforementioned Steve-O has another bundle of joy on the way. Congrats my friend! If this one is anything like Abby, they'll probably take over the world. Which celebrity will come back in the form of this kid eh?

So that's about it for now. Here's some currents to catch you up.

Currents:
Watching: The Chappelle Show (Season 2)/ Walking Tall/ Dark City

Listening: Chris Kirby - Rum and Religion/ Misfits - American Psycho/ Misfits - Famous Monsters/ Rage Against the Machine - s/t/ Metallica - ...and justice for all

Playing: Smackdown Vs. The first was my cousin Victor's wedding. That was fun... some pretty kick ass tunes (Jump Around man!!). But the big news, Steve's wedding was saturday and what a kick ass time. It was pretty fun during the ceremony... I've never done that kind of thing before; standing up there in front of people I really don't know, but I had a tux on so I felt pretty special. The reception was pretty fun too. Man, the dancing the daning. I decided to take on the responsibility of doing the toast to the Bride and Groom and aside from the crickets I heard after my speech, I think it went pretty well. The rest of the night was a blast. It was really fun being in that type of environment with all of my buddies; it doesn't happen very often. I guess it helps that the music was pretty good. Kate also had a goodtime so I'm happy about that. The night ended pretty early though, but all in all it was awesome, let's do it again this weekend!!!
So I didn't get my holidays this week like I had expected. I appearantely didn't sign up for them until the 20th, but at least I'll get some time off.
Oh yeah, some other big news, I finished my last exam today so that signifies the death of my student career. I'm not really pleased with how I left it though, I've been pretty far from an overachiever lately and my marks have shown for it. Oh well, I'm done. I'm currently the owner of two degrees, I guess things could be worse.

Anyway, I gotta go. Sorry for the crappy writing and the lack of consistency, I feel really really tired.
Leave me some love dogs.

Later,
Jondre.

Off the Coast of France, Dear.

Yo,
It's been quite the while, but in all honesty, I've been pretty damn busy. Why you ask? Well, school is almost over!!!! WOOT! Yep, as of this friday, Aug. 4, I am done (well, except for that pesky exam on the 9th, but that's no biggy).
So, what's new? Well, quite a few things.
This past weekend was a blast. On saturday night my cousin Victor married his long-time girlfriend Becky. It was a very nice affair, and it was fun to get together with the family again. Kate came along, much to her horror, and had to put up with my mom's side of the family for the whole night. But we got up and danced a few times. Songs like: Styin' Alive, Jump Around, and the Twist (we imitated John Travolta and Uma Thruman to that one) got us out of our seats. It was a good time, but I didn't get drunk enough for my tastes.

The next night was just as fun. Kate and I had a kick ass bar-b-q, in which I charred most of the meat but I didn't hear too many complaints. Chuck dropped by and we force-fed him some food as well. After that me and Chuck went out to Steve's house for a bachelor party! Yeah! That's right, Steve is now only a few days away from marriage so we had to obliterate him! First we went to Dooly's for some pool games and drinking, then we headed back to Steve's place, all the while feeding him drinks and "party favors" as Andy likes to call them. I was a little worried that the force was too strong in him (he took a beating; we were buying him 2 to 4 drinks at a time) but int he end it was too much for him and he was wrecked before I left. As for me, I had the good part of a dozen beer, a jug (my old friend) from Dooly's, and even a couple with supper. Needless to say, I was a little drunk, but Kate took care of me when I got back to her place!

Oh yeah, did I mention that Kate's parents are gone out of town for like a week and I'm staying there? No, well that's the case and it is pretty damn awesome! It's like a brief vision of the future. I just hope Kate doesn't get sick of me and try to nail me with a frying pan or something. Oh well, only time will tell.

But more fun times lie ahead. That's right, we have Steve's wedding this saturday, and I can't freaking wait! As well, school is soon gonna be finite-o for me (perhaps for good), and we have the regatta coming up which means the day off for me as well! Plus after this weekend I have another week of holidays coming to me from Sears! Holy shit Batman, I can't wait. Alls I gotta do is make it through this week and I'm set. The bad thing, I've already started acting like I'm finished up.

So here's what I expect out of the rest of my summer:
- A cabin run (you hear that Steve and Russ?)
- A roadtrip with Kate
- Some sleepin' in
- Some writing
- and some well deserved relaxation.

Well, that's it for now, trying to make these mor short and sweet. Here's some currents for ya:

Watching: Motorcycle Mania/ The Crow (Collector's Edition)
Reading: Micheal Redhill - Fidelity
Listening: The Tragically Hip - Yer Favorites/ Monster Magnet - Dopes to Infinity/ Anthrax - We've Come for you all/ Anthrax - The Threat is Real/ Al Green - Ain't no Sunshine
Playing: Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 (yes, it has swallowed me up again)
Eating: Nothing...Mac and Cheese soon though.
Wishing: This week would go by quicker/ I could get published.

Over and Outta here,
Jondre the Giant.

Who Stole the Cookie from the cookie Jar?

What's up peeps?
I havn't been gone too long, but I guess I should try and update a little bit.

Okay, to start, seeing Sheavy again this past friday night was awesome. I'd forgotten how good they were live! But, then again, I havn't seen them since December 2001! Sheesh, what a long road it has been. It was also quite the experience for Kate! I think I have corrupted her with some good ole Sheavy metal. I guess it doesn't help that that's all I've been pumping through the two working speakers of my car ever since.

T'was Canada Day this saturday past, and it was pretty good. Me and Kate decided to stay at home that night after a day full of sunshine enjoyment and going to see "Superman". I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed by the movie, though I guess I can't really say I'm surprised. Superman has never been one of my favorite superheroes. But, I thought with Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor it could be much better. Alas, poor Spacey was made to look more like a walking joke then a maniacal super villain. It's not that I didn't overly like the movie, it's just I didn't think it was anything special. The director should've spent his time on X-Men 3 instead! :)

It was a fun weekend though, I was able to stay at Kate's both saturday and sunday night so that was nice. We took part in some movie watching mania with some pizza and beer on the side. T'was pretty awesome. Kate picked up "Easy Rider" for me in a bargain bin at Dominion for 11.88. I've sort of wanted to see this for a little while, but I was a little disappointed by it. I guess I was expecting more from the movie, but I really should of realized that it was made in the 60s and was going to have some underlying cultural and political messages. Maybe if I was alive when it was originally released I would have enjoyed it more, but ce la vie. (did I spell that right Kate?)

I've been a real slacker lately. I skipped classes on tuesday, only made it to one on wednesday, and I haven't done any assignments in two or three weeks. Don't get me started on assigned readings (I still don't have all my text books)! Blagh! Even talking about being a slacker of a student is boring to me!

Oh well, I'm starting to get excited for Pirates 2, and Clerks 2. Kate and I saw a tv spot for Clerks 2 the other day which was pretty awesome. Looks like all the old gang is back. It's not black n' white, but it looks pretty damn funny.

In computer news, I finally erased everything from my old desktop and handed it over to Dad. He was pretty excited.

Just a little warning. I have six pictures to put up over the next few posts. They are all part of a story, see if you can figure it out.

Currents:
Watching: Hannibal/ AVP/ Easy Rider

Reading: Micheal Redhill - Fidelity

Listening: Sheavy - Republic?/ Nirvana - Hits/ Led Zepplin - Early Years

Playing: Nothing... Here's the rundown:

School started again today. This offically marks the first day of the summer semester, or the last six weeks of the summer. I've only had one new class (intro to administration) and I feel that I will get my best sleep in years during it, so all is not lost. Next up is my second English Methods course; I have high hopes for this one. The last one let me down pretty hard so I'm not gonna get my hopes too high, but I hear the prof is like the "anti-prof" I guess in a good way, so hopefully all will be well.

June 28th is the drawdate of the "Dream Home". Kate and I have our fingers crossed for that one. Man, how sweet it would be to win that beast. New house, new car, spitting distance to Wal-Mart, Futureshop, and various other retail opportunities. Oh yeah, and that freedom thing I've been complaining about a lot lately. Not that I mind living with my parents, but I really think I should be moving on pretty soon. I think I am the only one of my friends who haven't at least tried a stint on their own. Sheesh, I'm falling behind the groove here.

This weekend was a doozy. Quite excellent. Aside from the working, I was able to stay over to Kate's on saturday night. We ordered pizza, drank beer, and watched the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 3, and just chilled. The next day we woke up at 9 or so and decided to get breakfast out. We went to Cora's, a relatively new joint hailing from Quebec. That being the case (and the fact that she was at the original before) Kate has been very excited about trying it here. I must say, it was pretty good, but it was marred by the fact that I got somewhat sick eating their Crepe, but everything else was good. And wow, what a crazy amount of fruit is provided. Quite the healthy place.

After Cora's we headed over to Wal-Mart to get some pictures developed. While there we looked over the electronics department, and against our better judgement, picked up 5 dvds between us. Yeesh, we are suckers for punishment. I managed to snag Aliens vs. Predator (AVP), Unbreakable, and Dodgeball. Kate made off with White Oleander, and Kiss the Girls all for a reasonable, sweat shop price. After retrieving our pictures we proceeded to watch three of the five movies straight, before entering into a Coronation Street (that's right the British Soap Opera) stint and then calling it a night. What an awesome weekend.

So for those who are doing the math in their head, that's 126 in Jondre's DVD collection. Only what? 2000 more to go to catch up to Steve? The rat bastard!

Speaking of my childhood... I've begun to search for some old television shows/ cartoons I used to watch as a youngster. Namely, The Maxx (the MTV Oddities show based on the comic book), Record of Lodoss War, and (you paying attention Steve?) Visionaries (a kick ass cartoon about guys and gals who can magically change into neon animals and whatnot). Man, it brings me back. I'm trying to get the full series of all of them so I can make some DVDs, cuz God knows they won't make em for me (save Lodoss War, I believe). I tried to take some screen caps, but it didn't quite work out the way I had planned.

In "On the Road to Publication" news, I edited my first story the other day and I think it turned out pretty good. Watiing for my editor (Kate) to get it back to me so I can try and send it off somewhere. I'll probably try and do another one or two this week sometime.

Y'know, I realized the other day, while driving behind a very, very slow car, that if I make it to fifty I will have doubled the age I am right now. I know, I know, simple math, but the implications of which are quite astounding. As of right now, I believe I am a fully formed person complete with personality, mind, education, and everything else. If I have another 25 or 26 years, what else can I do? I guess, I could become a completely different person if I want to, or maybe I will have to. Maybe that's what we do. On one hand, it's very comforting knowing that one has so much time to do what they want, on the other it's quite scary to know that the person I am at this moment may not be the person I am in 25 years. I think I'll go with my intial reaction and be thankful I have so much time.

Anyway, some deep stuff compared to the usual teenage journal stuff I usually postualte over here. Have fun with that. Any takers? Opinions?

Here's the currents bitches:

Watching: Predator 2/ Unbreakable/ Dodgeball/ Kiss the Girls/ Visionaries

Reading: Fidelity (again, Author unremembered).

Playing: Nothing...

Listening: Audioslave - st/ The Tragically Hip - Yer Favorities/ Fu ManChu - California Crossing/ Fu Manchu - Eatin' Dust.

Eating: Nothin' (still digesting Crepe).

Wishing: I was off for the summer/ I was published/ I was finished school.

Peace suckas,
Jondre.

"6 Hours Before, With an Evil Grin..."

Hey there,
Sorry I havn't updated in a while, but between school, work, and life I've been somewhat busy. But I guess now is as good a time as ever to catch everyone up.

School and Life:
Well, the reason that I've been so busy lately is that one part of the summer semester I've been trying to make it through has been coming to an end. There have been various projects to (start) finish, and tests to study for. I have been a pretty big slacker so far this term and I think my marks are starting to show it, well at least in testing purposes. In assignments I've been kicking some major ass. But as this part of the semester comes to an end three classes (or parts of classes) that I have enjoyed are going bye-bye. Now I am faced with more boring and less inviting classes that will not promote in me a great amount of drive to attend, and my attendance has been less then stellar as it is.

Life is pretty much the same. My relationship is still going great with Kate; it's really unbelievable how easily we get along. About 10 months and not one fight yet. Sheesh, that's gotta be some kind of record. That's it, Knock on wood, I don't want to jinx it by going into more detail!
Things for Steve's wedding has gotten underway. The groomsmen all went out to get fitted for our tuxes the other night. That was fun. We all havn't hung out in a long time. They managed to wrap som fabric around me and toss some shoe boxes around my feet, so I'm good to go. We then proceeded to Dooley's for some billiards action. We havn't done that in a while. The only thing missing was Kevin and Russ nailing him in the crotch with a misplaced cue ball! Man, I can't wait for that wedding! Next up is the bachelor party, woohoo!

Finances:
Well, I've finally come to the end of the money I told you about a couple of weeks back. But I did manage to get some use out of it. Bought some good food, watched some good movies, and bought more dvds. Me and Kate most recently took in X-Men 3 and The Break-Up. Both pretty good, though I think lacking in some areas. However, I would still recommend them, and they will be future entries into my DVD collection.

Speaking of the DVD collection, I bought Motorcycle Mania 3: Jesse James Rides Again, a little while ago. Back a couple of years I was a big fan of Jesse's, I watched all the Motorcycle Manias and Monster Garage. I have recently moved away from him and his West Coast Choppers, but I still really like this movie. Sort of a documentary, it details a year or two in his life. Pretty interesting stuff, and some pretty kick ass choppers. The best thing about the movie is the soundtrack though which included Down, Corrossion of Conformity, Fu Manchu, and Danzig. The movie single-handedly rekindled my interest in Fu Manchu whom I havn't listened to in a long time!

Entertainment:
Hrmm.. well, I think I touched on some of this stuff above. Seen some movies, bought some movies, began listening to some rocking tunes for the summer.

Ah yes, well, lately here in St. John's the weather has been pretty kick ass. So to take advantage of the good weather, Kate, Elizabeth (Kate's sister), and I took a trip out to Salmonier Nature Park yesterday. It was pretty fun, though it must be early in the summer for them cuz some of the animals were not in their "enclosures" yet. And, it was so hot, the animals we did see were flaked out taking power naps. Lucky bastards! Oh well, we'll head back at some point this summer I'm sure.

On the literary scene, I was unable to continue reading Pierre Burton's Joy of Writing becuase the summer heat has made me too lazy to concentrate on such hard and fast rule. I moved on to a new book called Fidelty, the author of which I forget at the time being (I am writing this from MUN). It is a book of short stories (my favorite) and from what I've read so far it seems pretty good. I'm very interested to read what Kevin has cooked up over in England though, the rat bastard living out the writer's dream!

What Else?
Well, I've decided to finally edit the short stories I have laying around and I'm going to send them off to see if they will get published. It's a very nerve-wracking experience, but if it is ever gonna happen it's going to be now. I've got 3 or 4 stories I can send off to different magazines, so hopefully at least one of them will be accepted. I think I might have mentioned this in the last entry, but now I'm actually going to go through with it. Oh well, wish me luck!

Here are some more currents for ya!

Watching:Motorcycle Mania 3/ Ghostbusters/ Predator Sp. Ed.

Listening: Summer tunes (Fu Manchu/ Tragically Hip)

Reading: Fidelity (author unremembered)

Eating: Nothing...

Wishing: To be finished school/ to be moved out/ to be published/ to have money again!

That's it for me true believers,
Catch ya on the Flip Side,
Jondre the Giant

Coffee is a food group isn't iT?

Welcome back,

Well, well, I havn't updated here in a little while so I guess I should catch you all up.

School and Life:
Now 3 weeks into my final term in the Education faculty. I can't freaking wait til I am done with this place. Plus with all the talk about moving out surrounding me (mostly from Chuck) I really want to get out on my own. Chuck is moving out this thursday or friday, Steve and Sarah have their own house, Kevin is in London, Russ is out with Lisa (i think?) and Mooch has been out with Dawn for a good while now. Freedom is what we are talking about here I think. So hopefully, If I am able to get some substitution days in september or october (and onwards) plus some extra time at Sears, I might be able to pull it off. I think Kate is starting to feel the need to leave the nest again as well. She's been telling me about some possible kitchen utensils and plates that we should get from her workplace. So here's hoping somewhere in the future.

Finances:
In other news, I might have mentioned that I would be coming into some money, well I did, and here are some of the spoils of it:

DVDS:
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
The Crow (Special Edition)
Dark City (Special Edition)
Napolean Dynamite (Freakin' Sweet Edition)
Waiting (Raw and Uncut).
The Machnist (a gift from Kate :) )
CDS:
Tool - 10,000 Days
Matt Mays and El Torpedo - Cocaine Cowgirl
OTHER:
New Balance Sneakers
Converse Sneakers (gift from the parents)
"Publish or Perish" Journal

Now for those of you keeping count that makes my DVD collection about 122. Not too bad, but far, far, far away from what Steve got.

Entertainment:
In other news, Kate and I attended Steve's BBQ this Saturday past. It was pretty cool. It reminded me of the golden days of the gang, broughtback some memories and all that jazz. We had some killer bbq on Steve's awesome new grill, drank, chatted, etc. I was finally introduced to Guitar Hero and managed to be half decent in a couple of songs.... well, I never failed anyway. I gotta say, it was pretty fun.

I took monday off (skipped one of my classes) and Kate and I just hung out all day and relaxed. We took in The Davinci Code and I was pleasantly surprised. I had been expecting the worst from the reviews and from what my friends have been telling me, but I found it pretty good. Not one of my top 5 movies of all time or anything, but it was decent and enjoyable. I think I may pick it up when it comes out on DVD. Next up is X-Men 3! Woohoo!

Finally finished Fight Club monday night. I really enjoyed it, a little different from the movie and I believe a bit better. The afterword by Chucky P. was pretty funny as well; very interesting. I think that it has motivated me to try and write again. The next day I couldn't put down my little notepad/journal thingy. I think I may start sending some of my stuff out. I won't really hear any response until the fall, but I guess I should give it the old college try. If I get published I'll be exstatic!! I got about 3 or 4 stories lying around, now all I have to do is figure out where to send what! Hrmm...

What Else?:
Been thinking of getting involved in something a little athletic lately. Well, I've always thought about getting involved in the local Pro Wrestling scene, and now I know Johnny Zero as the local legend that he is...creating suplexes and stuff, so maybe he could take me under his wing, teach me the ropes (pardon the pun) and make me a wrestler. I'm definately big enough for it... maybe more cardio and more weights to my morning breakfast would be fine. I mean, me and Johnny Zero could become popular tag champs until I turn on him and we would have a brutul rivalry that would end in blood shed. lol. If this ever came true maybe my theme song would be Kyuss - Demon Cleaner, Megadeth - 99 ways to die, or Queens of the Stone Age - Someone's in the Wolf. Lol, I think it would be fun. Then again, there is going to be Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes starting somewhere around town. With that kind of training maybe I could become a Cage Fighter. That would be fun too. Kate actually suggested it, not that she wants me to get the crap beat out of me, but she knows that I am interested in it. :) However, I think the theme song choices would stay the same.
All-in-all I think these are just pipe dreams. My back is probably too bad for me to do anything like that, but it's fun to ponder over.

That's it for me, I'll leave ya with some currents:

Watching: Fight Club

Listening: MP3s (Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Dani California)

Reading: Frank McCourt - Teacher Man, Pierre Burton - The Joy of Writing

Eating: Stackables (soon...soon).

Wishing: I could get published; I could get another Tattoo.

Catch ya on the flip side,
Jondre the Giant

"I'm tired of screwing up, I'm tired of goin' down, I'm tired of myself, I'm tired of this towN"

Long time, no see.

A lot has happened since I last left you. I guess first in foremost is that I am now trudging along back in school. My term will last me from May 8 to August 10 (?) so basically my whole summer is wasted inside crowdy, overly hot, classrooms trying to concentrate on things that really are not that interesting. The only upside is that this may possibly be the last term I ever have to be in school. That's right, I will be a working slob instead of a poor student soon enough (though I'm sure to be pretty poor then too, just working more to dwindle all my money away). But, I'm sure that the summer won't be so bad. As much as I hate being in school during this time of the year, the course that I will be doing have presented themselves as more interesting than I imagined. As well, I have two weddings to attend and a couple of road trips planned (road trip to the cabin right Steve?) so it should be okay.

Next up, my car is shot. yeah the transmission is kaput. Which means all I get to do is go to school, go to work, and then go home! Argh! It's very frustrating. Kate and I don't really get to see each other, but our schedules were pretty opposite this week anyway.

In more positive news, I'm going to be coming into some money soon. Between student loans, pay, and income tax, I'll have a fair bit o' money to spread around. Mostly this will be put to the task of clearing up some of my debt! Woohoo! But I am going to be buying 3 DVDs (to close down one of my Columbia House accounts), probably the new Tool CD, and either the new Red Hot Chilli Peppers CD, or a couple from those 2 for 30 specials you see everywhere now-a-days! Exciting times! Also, I got my story back from the Arts and Letters competition. Though it doesn't tell me if I have won anything or not there were some very good comments left on it by the Adjudicator who read it. Something along the lines of wanting to read more of my work. It is pretty kick ass, and I am sort of proud of myself. It certainly gives me a bit more confidence in my writing abilities. Since then I've been trying to write like crazy, though school has been getting in the way a little lately! Now, if I manage to somehow win the competition then I will get an extra 750 for my piggy bank which will make it all the better!!

I watched King Kong recently. Though it was a little long I liked it. I really liked the way they protrayed Kong. However, I have never seen the first one (which is supposedly much better) so I can't judge and I never had the let down of the movie not living up to the first one. I did have some Lord of the Rings flashbacks though, especially in the slow motion shots Petey used, and the way the Skull Islanders looked (very reminiscent of Orcs or Goblins from the movies)! Next movie that is up is Walk the Line if my car is ever fixed and I can make it over to Kate's. It is supposedly as good as "Ray" so I am looking forward to checking it out.

Alright, before I go, I have to give some congrats to Chuck for getting into his Master's program! Way to go man; proud of ya. And he's moving out... remember to make my extra key dude! lol
That's it for me,

Catch ya on the Flipside,
Jondre the Giant

                                                                                       **May 11, 2006 EDIT**

Hey,

Just found out that if I had won the Arts and Letters Competition I would have found out about it weeks ago (in order for them to get my permission to read some it out loud) and they probably would've told me when the competition started on saturday (which they havn't even though I've e-mailed them)!
Just thought you would like to know.

Jondre

"By the time you read this, you'll be older than you remember."

Bookend post I guess.

This is officially the last day of my week-long sabbatical from work, school, and anything else. As well, it is a week and a day from the beginning of my last term in school. Exciting, but more bitter sweet because I can't really enjoy the summer. Oh well, there will be random events throughout the summer that have me excited. Steve's wedding being one (where's my invitation bitch?), my cousin's wedding, and a couple of possible weekend trips along the way.

The summer really makes me crave for two things: BBQs and Road Trips. I've had BBQs now I need a road trip. I don't think the ole Neon can handle a road trip anymore though. As it is the muffler is just about shot, the brakes aren't what you would call responsive, it shakes (like the enterprise hitting warp 10, with good ole Scotty shitting his pants) when I make it over 100 (km/h), and, to make matters worse, whenever it rains out the radio won't work for 2 days! It's really a bummer, oh well, maybe it can handle a short trip.

The week was pretty relaxing. Had some time to myself and some quality time with Kate. Spent a few hours at Chapters reading and writing again... watched some movies and just hung out. I took in "A History of Violence" on Friday. I gotta say, it was pretty good, but the ending left me a little disappointed. Not enough of a resolution I guess. I understand that there is some sort of resolution, some little signs, I guess I just wanted a small glimpse into the life afterwards. Movies certainly are getting very "literary" in their approach and tactics lately. The ending of "A History of Violence" is just one example. It's like something out of one of the many short stories I've been reading lately. At the same time though, I should remember that "A History of Violence" was based on a graphic novel (or I think that's what I heard). Anyway, I enjoyed the movie. It was rather short and to the point, but it left me wanting more.

In money news.... I have none. Well, not any for me. Both Kate and I are doing very good with budgetting our money to get our respective debts down. Kate's will be gone well before mine due to the outrageous amount that I owe in student loans! Yikes! But when we have our debts taken care of (at least to a comfortable point) the plan is to try and move out. Hopefully, by that time, I'll be getting some decent substituting hours (maybe even some full-time action) with some help from part-time work at Sears. I think our plan is to move out sometime in early next year (Kate can rectify me on this if it is wrong!), so here's hoping we can stay on track.

Well, here's some "Currents" for ya!

Watching: Forrest Gump/ A History of Violence/ Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.
Reading: Oblivion - David Foster Wallace/ Diary - Chuck Palahniuk
Listening: Nothing, my car got wet yesterday.
Playing: Smackdown vs. Raw 2006
Eating: Nothing, just drinking some second-rate cola.
Wishing: I was published; I was finished school; I didn't have to go to work in the morning.

That's it for now.
Catch ya on the flipside,
Jondre.

Don't You Forget About Me...

Greetings true believers,
Yet another update from me...what's that? 3rd one this week? Sheesh, I must be going for a record.

So today is the first official day of my week-long vacation from Sears, school and everything else. I'm looking forward to the time just to relax and do a whole lot of nothing. The shitty thing is Kate is going to be working non-stop all week, so I won't get to see her as much as I had expected this coming week, but at least it will be relaxing.

The plan worked out on Friday, and Kate and I ended up at chapters for 3 or 4 hours, just reading or writing. It was nice.

Work was a bit better Saturday, I felt a little more relaxed, but it was busy and the last day there for over a week so maybe that's why I felt a little better. I've begun to get a few extra hours now, but I still don't have as much as other people who have been there even less than me. It sorta sucks, and it doesn't do a whole lot for my opinion that the Shoe department doesn't really appreciate me. Oh well, I'll ask about the available hours in the other department when I get back and weigh my options. Things aren't looking good for the show department though.

Geek Update: As you all probably know, I've been playing Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006 since I got it for Christmas. In saying that, I havn't found it as engaging as other wrestling games I've played... I just havn't been that into it. However, now I have found something that has peaked my interest. New to the game this year is a "General Manager" option. In this, you become the manager of a t.v. show, or brand, and sign wrestlers, make matches, and try and get the most ratings or play to the audience. The major downfall is that there are no cool movies and you don't really get to see rivalaries to playout (except in matches) but it is pretty fun. I've only recently discovered that you can import Legend characters, and created characters into the game, so now I am rocking some of my own created characters and a couple Legends just for fun.
(P.S.: Sorry for the geekiness involved in the above, but this is probably what I'll be doing during my vacation, so it is sorta on my mind).

Literary Update: I have finally finished a short story that I have been working on, off and on, since last summer. It's about 5 and a half pages unedited right now, but I think that it is pretty good. I gotta put it through the ringer now though, and let Kate take a look at it, as well as read over it myself before I can proclaim any kind of success in it. I'll keep you posted. I am hoping that now that I have finally finished this story I can move on to something new more successfully. I think that this is the way my brain works, it focuses on one thing until it is done. If I don't finish it, I can't move on to anything else. Now, hopefully I won't have a major case of writer's block and I'll be able to kick out some more stories and maybe get something published. BlargH!

That's it for now, I gotta go do something productive.
See ya on the flipside,
Jondre

Sorry Steve-O!

Hey all, not going to give you a real update yet, but I just had to do this. I still have a level two test to correct but I forgot it at home! It is only 5:50, and I got til 10 before I blow this pop stand, so I figured I could leave a quick update.

Not a whole lot new since I last updated though. Easter Sunday I went to Kate's father's house for Easter Dinner, and it was pretty good. Chicken, turkey, dressing, gravy, potatoes, yumm.. it's making me hungry just thinking about it (all I had today was Kraft Dinner and toast!). After the festivities we decided to try and catch a movie, but there really isn't anything of interest in the theatres right now. I guess they are waiting for the summer blockbusters to start appearing.

Left with really no other choice, we decided to see "The Benchwarmers" the Adam Sandler (Happy Madison)produced comedy of 3 grown-up nerds taking on a slew of full teams of children and properly kicking their asses. The movie was okay. If there had to be something good in there (say X-Men 3 or Pirates of the Caribbean 2) I wouldn't have dreamed seeing it. However, it had some good moments. Really, it was your average nerd revenge movie, but some of the humour had a Sandler feel to it without Sandler actually delivering. Jon Heder and David Spade stole the show, along with some minor characters, particularly Mitch(?) the aging movie store clerk. I was sort of disappointed that Sandler didn't make a guest appearance, but that is the breaks. Out of 5 I would probably give this one a 2 1/2 or 3. Check it out on video but not on the big screen.

Probably the highlight of the movie was the previews, well one in particular, X-Men 3: The last Stand. I have been a fan of X-men for many, many years. I've loved the previous 2 movies (especially the sequel) so I am very, very excited for this one. There are a lot of mutants making appearances here, from the preview you can definately see Juggernaut, Dark Phoenix, Collosus, and Beast, but I'm sure there will be more. The only disappointing thing is that I don't believe Nightcrawler will be making a return. If anyone can tell me otherwise please notify me. All-in-all it is probably the most anticipated movie of the summer (for me anyway).

Well, that was my Easter Sunday. The next day, Kate, Elizabeth (her younger sister), and I took in another movie, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown in a daily showing. It was pretty good. I liked the first one, but wasn't totally hardcore over it. This one had a little more appeal to it from my perspective. Some pretty funny things happen in it... almost Shrek-esque at points so it was somewhat enjoyable. I'd probably give this movie about a 3 or 3 1/2 out of 5. Again, a renter.

Speaking of work, I am still not quite as happy in my position as I would like to be, and the lead of the CSDs (cashiers) is putting up a strong argument for me to join them. I justify it as being sort of like trying to move up in the job place. If teaching doesn't pan out and I am stuck at Sears, maybe I will be able to apply for a management position with the amount of varied experince that I have. On the otherhand, I am a pretty loyal person and shoes is a pretty reliable place for me to be. Plus, being on cash means that I am on my feet for my whole shift! Ugh, I'm so lazy. So I'll keep you updated on my decision, but I don't know when, or if, I'll decide, but it is looking good for my change of position.

Oooh, I just found someone's roll-up-the-rim and it has a free coffee on it!! woohoo! That's something else I can do to pass the time.

Anyway, with that thrilling installment of the Jondre-blog, I will leave you. Perhaps I will take a look at some literary journals and try to decide where I can send some stories and make a name for myself.

Catch ya on the flipside,
Jondre.

Happy Easter ya Filthy Animals!

I don't know if I'll have a lot to say today, but I'll give it a try.
I finished up my internshup this past thursday. It was sort of a bittersweet day for me. I know that I have been complaining a lot about it, but really that was the focus of one person. In terms of my students, I was really just getting used to seeing them everyday, talking to them, and teaching them. I knew most of them and had some sort of dialogue with each of them. Some made me some homemade "we will miss you" cards for me, which I will keep as a reminder of my internship, others gave me hugs. I really believe I will miss them somewhat. I will certianly miss teaching them. They were interesting cats and kittens!
But, in the long run, I passed. Yep my supporting teacher actually passed me. Not with flying colors but with some good remarks and so on. So now all that's left is some school over the summer (ugh!) and then I am finished!

In other news, it's Easter. It hasn't been very exciting for me this year, aside from the fact that I get a break from my internship and a break from doing anything challenging in general. I just have to put up with work at Sears now until school starts up again in may. In terms of work, I'm really not feeling the love lately. I'm not really feeling motivated in my position at the shoe department. When we first moved over to the new store
I was considered an expert considering I've been there for over a year, but now I get ordered around by people who have only been there since november. It's starting to get on my nerves. Maybe I'm just being a big baby, but I don't feel like I am getting the respect I should, and it really is preventing me from being motivated while working. I have been thinking about switching departments, but I really don't know.

The weather has been extremely nice lately. On friday Kate and I were able to take a stroll around downtown early in the morning. Being a holiday it was one of the only times that we have had off at the same time. It was fun, we got to just enjoy the weather and check out some of the shops around there (window shopping of course). We discovered a guitar shop that neither of us knew about before, "boogaloo" so we will be checking that place out the next time there is no holiday and we are both off. We then proceeded to watch Snatch (my choice) and Alley McBeal (her choice) for the rest of the day with some beer to keep us company. It was an awesome day all around!

I've been thinking lately about getting another tattoo. I know how painful the last one was, but I can't help myself. They really are addictive! I think I want a quarter sleeve done on my right arm (the arm that is a blank slate for now). The only problem is I don't really know what to include in it. Oh well, I don't hav eany money now, so I really shouldn't be thinking about it!

Anyway, I guess I should head off and eat some chocolate.
Catch ya on the flipside,
Jondre.

God is in the radio, c-c-checking the station...

Hello all,
I've been trying to update this beast for the past couple of days, but I havn't been able to find the tiem 'til now. It's funny, really. I'm supposed to be tutoring right now, but since I can't do anything but help people with English stuff I am stuck with some freetime on one of the available computers. Not to bad in the long run, but I would rather be home than here.

I feel a little naked actually, like one of the students may round the corner any second and actually start reading over my shoulder. I guess I could just punch em in the face or something, but then there's all the lawsuits and the teaching occupation down the drain...

Yesterday was an excellent day here in the town of St.John's. Spring is certainly starting to rear its frightened and timid head. To celebrate the day, Kate and I took a nice walk in the park. Its amazing just how many people show up to Bowring park with either babies or dogs. But, it made me want to really get a dog once again. I am an avid dog lover. I have had two yellow Labs in throughout my life and I loved them dearly. Now I think I may invest in a black lab, once I get some extra money and a plae of my own. I really, really love dogs and I am very glad that Kate does as well. If she doesn't kick me to the curb anytime soon, our home will be littered with dogs I think. Two for me, and two for her. I just can't wait. All of this depend upon how well I do in the remainder of my internship (9 school days left, woohoo!) and how easy it is for me to get some substituting days once september and the new school year rolls around. We will have to see, but exciting nonetheless.

AfflacK! Quack! QuacK!

Last night, Kate and I attended a birthday party for her father, a local jazz musician and owner of the Music Studio. Needless to say the people that showed up were interesting. At first you had the regulars, or the family. None of which I had met before, but were expected by both of us. This group included us, even though I have only been dating Kate for about 7 months (jeez, its been that long already? woohoo), but I digress. On the otherhand we had young people, which consisted of students and fellow teachers at the Music Studio. They firmly set their territory around the food and beverage table, which I can't blame them for. Then there were some local musicians, and even the leader of the Buddhist movement of Atlantic Canada (or something like that; probably not so grand though), who, in a sidenote, helped in cleaning up after one of the Greyhound dogs as soon as she showed up (gotta love those buddhists). Now, if anyone knows me, they know I don't do well with new people, especially a great big bunch of new people, but it was quite painless, and there was only one I really wanted to punch in the face. :) All in all it was pretty fun.

I think that the best part of the night came after the party. Kate and I just went back to her house and we talked for an hour or so. I was great. We don't get a lot of time to sit down and do much of anything together, let alone talk, so I really enjoyed it. We talked about art, music, and writing, and it's really got my creative juices flowing. I can't wait to have some more free time in order to put it to good use. I really want to start sending things out to magazines and journals, so soon I will be looking in to doing something like that. On another sidenote, the Arts and Letters competition will be clueing up May 13th at the Rooms. Hopefully I will recieve some good news regarding that, but even if I don't I think Kate and I will take in the awards ceremony just for something to do.

One of my guilty pleasures for the last year or two has been watching UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter" and anything MMA. Really, I don't know why. I think it may have something to do with the complete brutality of the matches. It allows me to live vicariously through the men in the ring, and get some of my frustrations out. As for the reality series "The Ultimate Fighter" it is partially the fighting but also the odd personalities that are involved in the game. The new season is starting very soon (this thursday to be exact). The new coaches for this season is Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. Anyone who has watched anything to do with MMA know how much these guys hate each other. They just show absolutely no respect for one another, so it should be very interesting to see how they interact on the show. In one of the commericials it shows Ken and Tito almost duking it out and having to be separated by cast and crew (including their students). Obviously this will lead up to a grudge match after the show is finished, but I think that they will make the season.

Hrmm.. enough geek talk I think. I should probably go and supervise or something.

Catch ya on the flipside.
Jondre the Giant.

When things are bad they just get worsE!

So, I've had this crazy flu for like three days straight. The kinda flu with a bad cough, sore throat, cold shivers, aches and pains, ya know, the Robatusin type flu. Yesterday I just couldn't handle it anymore and I had to take the day off of school. Not something I really wanted to do considering I need to impress my supporting teacher before she decides to fail me. But anyway, I took the day off cuz I felt useless. I went to the doctor and got meds, and then wend to pick up Kate so she could take care of me before she went to work. I know, I know, I'm a big sook, and I'm fine with that.

So on the way back to my house, I get pulled over by a cop. Appearantely I was doing 137 in a 100 zone. Normally, the cop tells me, he would have to deduct 4 points from my licence plus give me a decent sized fine, but he musta felt sorry for me (I told him I was sick) and decided to give me a regular speeding ticket with a small fine and no points gone. So now you know the reasoning behind my title. It really isn't all that bad, but I really just felt like crap yesterday. Plus, this is my first speeding ticket in 5 years. Well, I guess it had to happen at some point. Then I tried to go to work last night and I could barely make it for 2 hours! YeesH!

Not much else that is new. Hrmm.. I'll be done my internship in about 3 weeks (woohoo), then I'll be able to relax for a little bit and I can't wait. It's been pretty stressful for me since I began my internship, and only now am I beginning to see the kind of reactions I was hoping for from my supporting teacher. Hopefully I did well enough to pass because really, I don't want to have spent so much money and time on this without getting through it, and also, that would be the end to my teaching career. I guess I could always try and go full-time a sears, though that would never happen.

In other news, Kate's dad had a b-day on the 22nd and my mom is having her's on the 25th. Happy b-day to you both.

Anyway, that was short and incoherent, but I'm gone,
Jondre

St.Patrick and the Snakes

Happy St. Patty's day everyone. I hope everyone is gonna get nice and drunk, because I can't!
Well, this week was slightly better than last week. I can't help but think that most of that is because my supporting teacher was away everyday except today. I'm also getting into teaching stuff that I find a little more interest in, essays. Now I know that essays aren't all that exciting, but some of the narrative essays I've been reading for class have been pretty good. That's probably the closest I'll get to doing anything with short stories during my internship anyway.

School was pretty cool today anyway. See, the male staff, on Valentine's Day, treat the female staff to lunch without having to do duty (patrol) so the female staff return the favor on St.Patrick's day. So today I got to pre-order my lunch, getting a kick ass stuffed chicken breast! Hells yeah, it twas yummy. The Students are getting a little better too. I don't know why, maybe they are just getting tired. It could also be that I flipped out on them earlier in the week and said that they weren't giving me any respect. After that they seemed to start acting a little more considerate towards me. Hrmm.. I'd say it's just a coincidence.

This weekend is going to be a little more relaxing as well. I only have to work tonight (til 12) and then I believe I am off for the rest of the weekend. With that in mind I believe that me and Kate are going to catch a performance of Aida, but both of our schedules are getting pretty hectic now. I gotta try and impress my supporting teacher before I finish up my internship, so that's a lot more preparation to do. As well, Kate now has a second job which will be taking up more of her time. It sucks, but what gotta be done, gotta be done I spose.

Wow, lately I really don't have much to talk about. I guess it's becuase I havn't been up to anything exciting since I got my tattoo. I've been really trying to keep ahead in my school work, so any spare time I have I like to just relax and sleep. Sometimes I wish I could just be working right now. None of this internship bullshit, just working a full-time job, nine-to-fiving it. I would certainly have a bit more money, and it would be a lot less hard on my nerves I also might have more free time to write. Speaking of money and writing, I wish I could write more and perhaps get published. That kinda thing would be ideal right now that I can't work very much. Oh well, I'll have to try my hand when I have more time. Though I am still waiting to hear back from the Arts and Letters Competition. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Anywayz, I gotta go watch Sin City or something.
Catch ya on the flip side,
Jondre

Attack of the psycho bitches!

It seems as though this entry is long overdue. It has been ages since I last added one; at least over a week. What can I say? I've been extremely busy. Now, back to the title. Well, last week was indeed the attack of the psycho bitches. First off, I had to deal with my "cooperating" teacher throughout the whole week. I think that her distast for me comes from a personal level, not a professional one, but that doesn't make it any better. I mean, she doesn't even talk to me outside of class, and the only time I hear from her is when she has some sort of negative comment to pass around. I don't even know how to describe the sour look that she puts on her face when she is forced to talk to me. Let's just say that it is very disconcerting. She had me to the point of quitting last week. Yep, she made me feel so useless and stupid that I actual thought I would just up and quit teaching then and there. But no, I prevailed. What worries me, however, is that I only have about 4 weeks left now, and if she thinks that I am so useless how can she pass me? Thus, I am extremely stressed out right now.

The second psycho bitch I had to face this week was a sales lead at work. She basically told me, and Kate, off in front of a floor full of customers because she saw Kate sitting down next to me. It was utterly stupid. I can't even talk about it now, it gets me so upset. Needless to say I have complained about her to two other sales leads for her unprofessional approach and attitude. The worst thing is that it really, really upset Kate, and I just can't handle that. So, if you hear about me being charged with assault against a woman soon, now you know why (just kidding, I wouldn't do that...or would I?).

In other news, the tattoo is coming along really well. Though the past week or so I was shedding little pieces of scab like a dog sheds hair (ewww.. gross). But now it is into what is called the "milk scab" which is a kind of scab that is sort of like a film covering the area and making it a little shiny. I would say about 2 more weeks or so and it will be all good. At least it has stopped hurting now.

Blagh, not much else to say now. I'll try to post more often this week though.

Later,
Jondre.

The big oW!

So, if you've been reading this blog at all you know that March 3rd was the date that I finally finished my tattoo. Well, today is March 4th, and yes, it is quite ocmplete.

Now, back to the title of this post. I'd like to start by saying, tattoos hurt. I mean a your getting a mechanized needle driven into you over and over again, oftentimes into the same place. My last appoitnment was pretty good, I got the outline done, I thought that I was pretty damn tough because it didn't really hurt (well, not as much as I thought it would) so this appointment I walked in cool and confident. However, when Krys started I realized that coloring in a tattoo feels slightly different than just drawing an outline. It hurt just a little more. So I was fine with that, I can handle it. I was watching Almost Famous and Kate was there offering moral support; no problem, right? Well, the part you see in the picture above is probably the least sensitive part of the arm, and notice how much of the tattoo is actually there. Probably the most sensitive part of the arm is underneath, especially near the arm pit. Please refer to the picture below.

Now, in this picture, notice how much ink is actually there and how close to the armpit it is. This section took probably 21/2 to 3 hours of the 4 hours I was there (that is most of Almost Famous and almost half of The Matrix). This was very painful. Now, I'm not going to be one of those macho tough guys and say that I toughed it out with a smile on my face, because I didn't. There was quite a few times when I had to close my eyes, grit my teeth, and squeeze poor little Kate's hand. Neither am I going to be a punk bitch. I certainly didn't cry or pass out. However, I think good ole Johnny Zero may have been a little embarassed by me because there were a few minutes in there when I really, really wanted to tap out and go home. As you can see though, I made it through and got it finished and boy am I glad. I personally think that it looks awesome, and I have no regrets.
As for future tattoos, well, right now I probably wouldn't be able to afford one for 3 years or some other foolish number, but I still want more. For now though, I am quite glad about having this one and I can't wait til it heals fully so I can just wash it like regular.
Props go out to Kate for sitting on a shitty little stool next to me while I was getting my tattoo. I'm sorry for the rant about my tattoo but really that's all that's been on my mind in the past few days. School has again taken its toll on me. Not that it has been as bad as before, but I find myself growing weary of it. Perhaps if there was some sort of paycheck involved I would be more inclined to work hard, do my best, and happily show up every day. But as that is not the case... you can only imagine. However, a great thing happened today, that's right, another snow day. This makes the third so far this term. Perhaps I should have taken advantage of this day in order to do some more work... no, not quite.
As I have noted above, I am not being paid for my internship. As well, I am recieving a wopping 6 - 10 hours a week at sears. None of this pays the bills. So today I paid a trip to Traders, my local pawn shop and gave away a shit load of stuff (including 4 ps2 games, 1 ps2 memory card, 1 ps2 controller, 7 cds, and 1 white gold ring) for a grand total of 65 bones. Woohoo. Now, that doesn't sound like a lot but it is pretty close to the amount I was hoping for (70) so I was pleased. With bills in hand, I was out the door and to the bank to pay the man. One bill down, one to go.
Now, I don't know how everyone else feels, but when I have to sell my stuff to pawn shops, it makes me feel a little dirty. Especially when you can tell that they are totally takin' you for a ride on a freight train headed straight up yer arse. Really, the stuff that I brought to them probably cost me way over 100 dollars when I originally got it. I feel embarassed. Used. I feel like a guy named Jamie being put into a jail cell with a guy named Tank - a little sore. Y'know what I mean? Probably not...
In other news, tomorrow is the big day. That's right, tomorrow I finish off my tattoo. It's hard to believe that it has been two weeks since I got the outline done, but then again it is hard to believe that it is March already. I really can't wait til it is all finished, but I am not looking forward to the 3 to 4 weeks of after-care. Right now, the tattoo is pretty much fully healed and ready to go, but after tomorrow it will be back to trying to keep it away from overly hot water, washing it with a luke warm cloth 3 times a day, keeping it dry, and moisturizing it. Blah, who am I to complain? It's going to be pretty kick ass when it is all said and done. I guess I'm just low maintainance. When it's done I'll post some pictures of it if anyone is interested. I may ask my tattoo artist, Krys, if she'll get in a pic with me. Oh well, I'll post something up here.
Anyway, before I go try and do some work here's some currents:

Watching:
Home Improvement. Wanting to watch a futuristic action movie.

Listening:
Metric - Portrait of a Girl (video on t.v.). Nothing else, my car stereo won't work.

Reading:
David Foster Wallace - Oblivion

Playing:
Smackdown vs. Raw 2006

Eating:
Stuffed Bagel Bites.

Wishing:
I had lots and lots of money, more motivation, and no more writer's block!

Take 'er easy,
Your friendly neighbourhood Ogre,
Jondre

P.S.: Kate now has here own blog here on blogspot. I think that this is normal due to the healing part of it. Actually, right now, the tattoo is very scabby and very itchy, and I am afraid that when the scab comes off it will distort the color. However, I am following the aftercare instructions to the tee, and I am certainly not picking at the scabs or scratching my arm (though I would really, really like too!)

It's funny; my tattoo isn't even finished yet and I want another one. Tattoos truly are addictive. Though, in my defense, I have always dreamed of having at least 3 or 4 tattoos, it was just getting up the courage to get the first one. The next tattoo will either be across my shoulders or on my other arm (perhaps totally on the underside of the arm. Though it hurts like hell I like the way it looks). I was also thinking about getting one on the back part of my lower leg. I think that I would like to get one on my upperback or across both shoulders, perhaps big letters proclaiming: "Literate" in some sort of cool, gothic/ grafitti- esque font. I want to have some similar themed tattoos ("writer" and "literate") going along with my future career (highschool english teacher), and my dream career (professional writer). Now, while I say this, I will probably not have the extra money to get another tattoo until I'm 42 as I am planning on saving up during this summer to move out on my own. Oh well, we will have to see what happens.

Now, on to the other part of my title: Procrastination. Yes, my blog has yet again provided me with the ability to disregard my planning duties of being a teacher in order to get some things off of my mind. Actually, I would like to address something I didn't really get to in my last entry. I mentioned that I had four major goals set out in the next 4 or 5 years. I have mentioned my goal of getting a tattoo (obviously), as well as my goal of becoming a published writer (briefly in my last entry and in more detail in previous ones), and I also believe that I have mentioned from time to time my goal of getting a full-time occupation (that is I am working toward becoming a teacher, and in the process of completing my internship). I would like to talk about the last goal though, the one about being in a serious relationship with a non-crazy woman for a long period. Well that too is a work in process.

I have been going out with Kate for about 6 months now, and though this is not an extremely long period of time, I can already tell that it is going to be a much better and much more fulfilling relationship than those I have been in previously. Kate and I have known each other for about a year and a half to two years, and we worked together. During that time (though we were both involved with other people) we both shared a crush of sorts on one another. As fate would have it, we both broke up with our former significant others around the same time and two weeks later we expressed our interest in each other. Since then it has been all gravy! I've said it before, and now I'll say it again, I'm probably going to marry this woman.

So all-in-all it seems as though my goals have been met or are in the process of being met. What can I say? Life is good. Maybe I should get some more goals.
And here's the currents:

Watching:
Mallrats, Titus - Seasons 1 & 2.
Video on Trial.

Listening:
Desert Sessions - Polly Wants a Crack Rock

Reading:
David Foster Wallace - Oblivion (still).

Playing:
Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 (still).

Eating:
Chicken Nuggets; wishing I was eating pizza.

Inked 'til the end!

Hey all,
So, I'm finally back. I realize that it's slim pickings around here but I try my best with the hectic schedule! :P Well, I don't know if anyone knows this but I have a few goals set out for myself for the next five years and here they are in no particular order:
1. Get a tattoo
2. Get published
3. Get a full-time "occupation"
4. Maintain a serious relationship with a chick who is not crazy.

Okay, I know that these are pretty straightforward and maybe shared by quite a few people, but I want em to dammit! So this weekend I've met one of my goals (at least partially). Yeah I got a tattoo. It's a tribal armband that is red and black. In the middle is some chinese characters that say: "writer" Originally I was going to get "booksmart" but I couldn't quite find the right translation. Why did I get this? Well, the tattoo is to signify my success in getting a B.A. in English and History (Hense the original booksmart idea). However, the "writer" part of it, while it still celebrates my degree, it also reminds me of another goal that I have set for myself (see goal #2). Plus, I think it looks damn cool! Here's a pic of it from front on:
As you can see it isn't completely colored in except the actual characters. I really, really like it and I can't wait 'til it is completely done (March 3rd! Boo-yaka!).
Also, me and Kate decided to get a hotel room last night to celebrate Valentine's day a little late. It was fun! It was certainly a nice change. The bed was huge, and very comfy. We rented Capote (which just got to theatres) which was okay. Plus, we had pizza hut! Last night was super relaxin' which is what I needed after the last few weeks of school!
Anywayz, I guess I should head on... I'll post more later!
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Jondre the Giant.

I've got another confession to make: I'm your fool...

Two days in a row, that's gotta be some kind of record.
Well, what's on the agenda today?
-Went to school, taught two courses about Shakespeare's The Tempest.
-Going to the mall to meet up with Kate at 5 so we can get supper together.
- Working from 6 - 10:15 @ Sears
- Probably hanging out with Kate again 'til I gotta go home and sleep and start it all over again.

Urgh. I'm getting a little tired of the constraints that my mew schedule is putting on me. I can't really do anything. On the weekends, when I can do something, I am either working or too tired to partake in anything overly exerting. There are only two things that get me through: Seeing Kate (for those one or two minutes between our work schedules), and coffee. I really can't wait to get back to normal classes; they're a lot less stressful, but I do miss all those English courses that I used to partake in. Man, I wish that MUN offered more creative writing courses for Fiction.

Blagh, not much to say today, probably the same ole, same ole. I should go grab some drugs before work (I got a headache)

Currents:
Watching: Kill Bill Vol. 1

Reading: David Foster Wallace - Oblivion

Listening: Mp3s (Foo Fighters - Best of You)

Playing: Smackdown vs. Raw 2006

Eating: Greasy McDonalds

Wishing: I could sleep.... yumm...

Hasta Luego,
Jondre

I can go with the flow...

Well, this is my second installment, and it's about damn time. To be fair though, I've been pretty damn busy. I just started my teaching internship in January, so basically I'm a teacher without the pay, and I'm still working part-time at Sears. Needless to say my schedule has been a little hectic. Even now I should be correcting some assignments but I just can't force myself to sit down and do it.

The internship itself is going pretty good; it has its ups and downs. My cooperating teacher treats me pretty good one minute, then treats me like crap the next. To be honest, I'm not really enjoying myself. I know, I know, I shouldn't be enjoying myself, I should be doing my best to learn the teaching art, be serious, and become the best teacher I can be, but if this is the occupation that I am going to have for the rest of my life I would like to get some enjoyment out of it. Oh well, maybe I'll get used to it. Maybe when I get out into substituting I'll be fine. I certainly hope so, cuz this is what I'm going to be doing for a very long time.

As for everything else, well Kate and I are doing great. I couldn't ask for anything better. My writing has gone down hill after a short spurt, but I did manage to enter a story into the Arts and Letters competition. If I win, I will get 750 bones, and will be published. Wee! Also, I've been non-stop feeding my DVD collection, now reaching the significant number of 115. Sheesh, so much money!

Currents:
Watching: Chappelle Show season 2, Titus season 1 &2, Batman Begins, and Austin Powers: Goldmember. (New acquisitions).

Listening: The Tragically Hip - Yer Favorites

Reading: David Foster Wallace - Oblivion

Playing: Smackdown vs. Raw 2006

Eating: East Side Mario's Pizza

Wishing: I could get published, and become a famous author! :P

Anyway, I must go do some school work (yay!), but this entry was longer than the other so I'm getting there. All I need now is to up the frequency.

Peace out,
Your friendly neighbourhood ogre,
Jondre the Giant.

"Spirits spoke to people through what they called the radio."

This is the beginning. Hopefully it will be the first of many posts, but I've had a hard time committing to this sort of thing. I decided to sign up for this when I saw my buddy's blog Blowin-Smoke and I can use any excuse that will keep me writing. But this one will be short and sweet because it's late and I'm tired.

Currents:
Watching: That 70's Show (season 3), Beavis and Butthead Vol.1(Mike Judge Collection), American Wedding, Edward Scissorhands [Christmas Presents].

Listening: The Tragically Hip: Yer Favorites, Queens of the Stone Age: Over the Years and Far Away.

Reading: Chuck Palahniuk: Survivor

Playing: Smackdown Vs.
